Heading 1
During the commercial season, spot prawns can be purchased live right from the commercial vessel. Live Spot Prawns are eagerly awaited by seafood lovers because they are so fresh. Frozen-at-sea spot prawns are exported around the world, and they are also available locally year-round.
For many years, until the mid-2000s, prawns were almost exclusively exported to Japan. Prawns are now higher demand in other export markets such as China, as well as in domestic markets. A strong and expanding desire for sourcing local and sustainable food has put a bright spotlight on the BC wild spot prawns, and our domestic market is expected to show continual growth.

The sweet flavour and firm texture is attributed to the fact that BC spot prawns are harvested from the chilly depths of the Pacific Ocean.
They are harvested deep from the bottom of the ocean and frozen in saltwater immediately on the commercial vessels. Both live and frozen BC spot prawns are high quality and fresh.
